He graduated with a medical German states degree from Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf, Germany, and completed his residency in surgical and trauma at St.Hildegardis KH in Köln, Germany, and the Orthopaedic Clinic and Polyclinic of Düsseldorf University Medical School. During his residency, he also trained as a Fellow at the Washington Orthopaedic and Knee Clinic in Maryland, Virginia, and at Howard University in Washington, D.C. Dr. Poessel specializes in shoulders, elbows, sports medicine, knees, hallux valgus (bunions), and biomolecular orthopaedics, and offers personalized, expert care to all of his patients.
